Semiconductor Manufacturing Equipment Roadmap Event Recap

In October 2023, the renewed Holland High Tech (HHT) Roadmap for Semiconductor Manufacturing Equipment was presented. On May 31, over 30 semiconductor companies and knowledge institutions gathered in Delft for a follow-up meeting to get an update on developments and national initiatives related to the roadmap over the past months.

Event Highlights

Ronald van Es from TKI HTSM and Wim van der Zande from ARCNL provided an update on TKI HTSM programming. They highlighted the strategic program for Semiconductor Manufacturing Equipment, upcoming calls, and specific support for SMEs, emphasizing the opportunities for companies to participate in public-private research projects.

Naomi Verstraeten, project coordinator, introduced ChipNL, a national plan aimed at uniting the Dutch chip industry for a sustainable future. Frans List, work package leader for Equipment, provided an overview of the Semiconductor Equipment pillar within ChipNL.

Marieke Stokkelaar from ChipTech Twente led a session on the Chips Act Competence Centers. She explained their role in providing access to pilot lines and the design platform, with a focus on semiconductor manufacturing equipment. The workshop aimed to gather input from companies on supply chain management within the Competence Center, with the goal of developing a technical service that meets market needs.
