Semiconductor Innovation Mission to India

Are you working in the Netherlands and active in the field of semiconductors? Are you interested in exploring the opportunities and developments of semicon in India? Then please join this innovation mission to India from 2 to 7 March 2025.

More information

Background

India is setting important steps to become a global semiconductor hub. In 2021, the Semicon India Program was launched with a budget of $10 billion to strengthen the semiconductor value chain, with more local front-end and back-end production capacity. The government recently approved four semiconductor factories, the country offers incentives for foreign investors, it has high-quality knowledge institutions and a strong software sector. Due to India’s leading position in chip design, almost every major chip design company in the world has a branch in India.

This innovation mission offers the opportunity to learn more about the semiconductor landscape and the government strategy of India. In addition, it offers unique opportunities to explore potential collaborations, mainly in the field of chip design, semiconductor equipment, and research and innovation programs.

Mission objectives

  • Gain insight into the semiconductor ecosystem of India and their strategy;
  • Matchmaking with Indian companies and knowledge institutions;
  • Exploring (bilateral) research and innovation collaborations with India.

Draft programme

In the development of the programme we will try to include the specific wishes of the participants as much as possible. During the programme we will visit 3 important regions:

  • We start the visit in New Delhi, the administrative heart of India, where we get an overview of the latest developments in the sector. We speak with the Indian government, the Semicon India Program, the industry organizations, the embassy and leading scientists.
  • We then visit Gujarat, where 3 semiconductor factories are being built. The Semicon Vision Summit is also held here on March 5, where the semiconductor industry of the entire country comes together.
  • We end in Bangalore, the silicon valley of India, where the design sector, the startup sector and many knowledge institutions are housed.

For whom

This innovation mission is mainly intended for professionals, companies and knowledge institutions from the Netherlands that work on semiconductor technology.

Costs

The costs for participation in the innovation mission are € 250 excluding VAT per person. This includes:

  • participation in the collective programme;
  • transfers (incl. domestic flights) to and from programme components;
  • lunch and dinners if this is stated in the programme.

Participation excludes:

  • travel and accommodation costs (intercontinental flights and hotels);
  • all individual costs, such as personal transfers, lunches and dinners outside the programme.

Registration

Would you like to participate in this innovation mission? Then register before Friday 24 January 2025 via the online registration form. The exploratory mission is small-scale. We aim for a maximum of 1 participant per organization. Depending on the number of registrations, a second participant may be allowed.

Final participation depends on the number of available places. We also look at how well your expertise fits within the scope and goal of the mission. Registration therefore does not mean that you will be admitted to the mission. You will receive a final confirmation of participation after the registration closes.
