In partnership with the Netherlands Embassy in Tokyo, we organized the Holland High Tech pavilion at SEMICON Japan presenting the Netherlands Semiconductor Industry.
Semiconductor industry in Japan
Japan has a strong semiconductor end market in the automotive and electronics sector. Japan also has a dominant industry for silicon wafers, manufacturing equipment and advanced materials, and is a leader in research for photonic-electronic conversion and others. Japan is proactively looking for international collaboration (e.g. FDI for TSMC R&D center and production facility in Japan).
The complete Semicon value chain in one country
The Netherlands is one of only three countries in the world, together with the USA and Japan, to have all steps of the value chain within its borders. From design and fabrication to packaging, testing and assembly of the end product – all within a 200-km radius. The Netherlands can provide key enabling technology solutions for themes such as healthy aging, carbon reduction, energy savings, secure societies, and green transport.
