Photonic Quantum Technologies
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will organize a work visit to Scotland on Photonic Quantum Technologies, which will take place from 21 to 24 May 2024.
The focus of the visit will be on photonic quantum technologies, as Scotland’s vibrant £1.2bn photonics cluster has been the foundation of Scotland’s quantum accomplishments to date. This cluster, containing around 60 companies supported by a world-leading academic base, has been responsible for around 40% of the UK’s collaborative research in quantum technologies over the last 10 years. With this visit, we aim to further strengthen connections between the ecosystem in Scotland and the ecosystem in the Netherlands as we recognize that in order to support the growth of our quantum industries, fostering partnerships with key international allies and ensuring effective collaboration between academia, industry, and government is critical.
