Op donderdag 8 juli om 10.00 uur organiseert Holland Robotics samen met Shell een online inspiratiesessie over robotica-ontwikkelingen op het gebied van logistiek. De sessie zal ongeveer een uur duren.

Berry Mulder, Manager Robotics binnen het Digitalisation Centre of Excellence van Shell, wil graag met relevante partijen in gesprek om Shell te inspireren met (nieuwe) ontwikkelingen, innovaties en oplossingen binnen de roboticamarkt, gericht op logistieke oplossingen.

Met de huidige ontwikkelingen van autonome navigatie- en (thuis)leveringsoplossingen verwacht Shell dat implementatietrajecten makkelijker zijn geworden en de kosten voor totaaloplossingen zijn gedaald. Shell is op dit moment niet specifiek op zoek naar een speciale oplossing voor een specifieke situatie, maar wil kijken naar de mogelijkheden die de markt reeds te bieden heeft en waar dit toe te passen is binnen (locaties van) Shell. En op basis van deze ervaringen te leren en verder uit te breiden.

Het betreft een interactieve, open brainstorm en inspiratiesessie waarbij Shell graag van u oplossingen en mogelijkheden binnen de markt hoort, die ze mee kunnen nemen voor verdere stappen.

For our larger facilities, we’re exploring whether the maturity level of robotic logistics is becoming competitive with conventional solutions.

Typical scope in mind:
Site:

• Dimensions: 500x500m upto 1000x2000m
• Outdoors
• Paved roads, sometimes not really smooth
• Semi-public (fenced area, yet roads are used by all kinds of traffic (vans, trucks, bicycles, etc); on-site drivers (incl external parties) are special instructed)
• Max speed is 30 kmh
• Heavy metal environment + high rise facilities (>30m), which impacts GPS usage

Logistics:

• Materials (no humans (yet!))
• Weight Categories:
  • Small: upto 5 kg (samples, spares & installation materials (gaskets, bolts, etc))
  • Medium: upto 50kg (small motors/pumps/gearboxes, liquid drums, toolboxes, etc)
  • Heavy: > 50 kg (motors, etc); not yet in scope
  • Superheavy / complex: Special transport; not in scope
• Content:
  • Metal, packaged materials
  • Hazardous/flammable (liquids, solids, gas (in special containers))
• Missions:
  • 50-500 per day
  • 24/365
• Context:
  • No entry to explosive (ATEX) environments
  • Both scheduled distribution and on-call pick-up & delivery in scope

With the rapid emergency of autonomous navigation and home-delivery solutions, we’d expect that the ease of implementation has gone up and the costs of the complete solutions has come down. We’re not looking for a special solutions for a special situation. Yet, we’re rather willing to learn by doing, implementing the affordable-possible at a matching location & situation. And expand based on those learnings.
