Electrolysis R&D acceleration – HyScaling project and beyond
What are the key technology challenges for electrolyzer technologies? What are the promising central and decentral use cases for green hydrogen production? In what way can the Dutch high tech industry contribute to the developments of electrolyzer technologies? These and more questions will be answered and discussed in the morning electrolysis congress on the 5th of June.
HyScaling and beyond
In 2019 TNO and ISPT initiated the HyScaling consortium which was the first large Dutch electrolyzer R&D consortium where 30 parties worked on advancing the PEM and Alkaline electrolyzer technologies. The project focus was on innovative component development, manufacturing processes, and system designs to achieve higher efficiency, longer component lifetimes, and lower overall costs. In parallel, for each technology, use cases and actions plans have been devised to enable the upscaling of hydrogen production capacity to 5 GW by 2030. During the congress we will share the main outcomes of the HyScaling project and also look beyond the necessary steps to accelerate the electrolyzer development. Here you can read more on the HyScaling project: Hydrogen production in the HyScaling project | TNO and HyScaling: making better electrolyzers in a better way (ispt.eu).
Dutch electrolyzer community
We seize the opportunity to bring the manufacturing community of hydrogen production together to both reflect on the developments achieved over the course of the past years, as well as to peek into the future to envision the challenges and opportunities which can be capitalized on to collectively grow stronger as a community.
