Innovation Mission Bavaria: AgTech, robotization and digitalization in open cultivation
Are you an entrepreneur or researcher working on innovative AgTech solutions for open cultivation? Would you like to work on innovation and product development (R&D) together with partners in Germany? Then join the Knowledge and Technology Innovation Mission to Bavaria from June 24-26, 2024.
Central to this agri-food innovation mission is exploring equal cooperation in research and development, for both researchers and companies.
For whom.
Are you an entrepreneur or a researcher affiliated with a knowledge institution? And do you work on innovative digital solutions, AgTech and precision agriculture applications for open crops? This mission will take you to Bavaria. This region is known for its arable farming including cultivation of wheat, barley and corn and potato cultivation. Various AgTech and precision agriculture solutions are involved:
- autonomous field robots (hoeing, weeding, harvesting);
- precision spraying;
- drone technology;
- sensor applications;
- imaging solutions such as (spectral) cameras, satellite data;
- farm management software;
- big data and AI solutions.
Goals of the mission
The goals of this mission are:
- Understanding the ecosystem, innovative developments and opportunities in the agribusiness sector in Bavaria.
- Explore and share best practices within policy, industry and on the farm.
- Explore trends and opportunities for multi-year (public-private) cooperation between knowledge institutions and between companies in the field of research and development.
- Linking innovative knowledge and technology from the Netherlands to market opportunities in Germany.
In the Netherlands, we not only want to be a major exporter of sustainably produced agri-food products, but also of knowledge, skill and technology for realizing a sustainable food system worldwide. We strengthen this position by investing in digital innovations and by collaborating in research and development with international partners.
Draft program
The mission program is under development. We try to take the specific wishes of the participants into account as much as possible when determining the final program. The main ingredients for the 3-day program:
- Visits to major companies such as Baywa, Fendt, Siemens as well as start-ups
- Visits to TU Munich, University of Applied Sciences Weihenstephan-Triesdorf
- Networking event (plus possible seminar)
- Visit to LfL (exchange and understanding of policy priorities and investments)
- Visit to Field Lab or an innovative farm
Cost
The cost for participation in the innovation mission is €250 per person. This includes: participation in the collective program, transfers to and from program elements, lunch and dinners if mentioned in the program. Participation does not include: travel and accommodation expenses and all individual costs.
